AMANDA & RYAN
August 2013
Amanda Danielson and Ryan Schumacher met when they were both undergraduates at Tufts University. Amanda was a freshman and lived on the 3rd floor of Tilton Hall, where Ryan, a junior, was a live-in math tutor for the freshmen. Within months, Amanda and Ryan became best friends.
Every day, when taking a break from homework, they had "tea time" and caught up or played Magic the Gathering. Once (maybe twice...) Ryan even did Amanda's computer science homework for her.
That fall, they mutually nicknamed each other "koala"-- a nickname that they still use to this day. Amanda began going to Ryan's house on Cape Cod in the summer with him and his friends each year.
February 2017
Realizing there was something more than friendship between them after being apart while Amanda studied abroad, Amanda and Ryan become boyfriend and girlfriend the day before Valentine's day. The two of them were both very sick and did not do anything romantic for Valentine's day. They stayed in, coughing and alternating between sweating to death and freezing to death, and made soup.
Their first REAL date was taking a salsa dancing class together! Amanda and Ryan did not get to dance together much, and Amanda had to dance with many creepy old men

March 2020
At the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Amanda and Ryan (and their adorable cat, Cato) decided to move in together. They quarantined together for the beginning of the pandemic and decided afterward that they were ready to make the arrangement permanent.
Amanda and Ryan discussed getting engaged that fall, after realizing how much they enjoyed living together. On the day that Ryan purchased Amanda's engagement ring, he quit his job at Microsoft.
March 2021
Ryan asked Amanda to go on a hike. Ryan said the proposal was coming in "Q1 2021," so Amanda knew it had to be coming soon... but Ryan asked her to choose the trail, which thwarted her suspicions.
Ryan was so nervous that he failed to assemble their sandwiches and put the whole pack of deli meat into their lunch box. Instead of waiting until lunch and proposing during the picnic he planned, he pulled her to the side of the trail within 5 minutes.
He began showing her the items he packed for their lunch later. Amanda was confused and wondered why it mattered what they were eating for lunch. After proudly brandishing the Hillshire farms turkey container, Ryan pulled out an aluminum foil-wrapped box and said "And look what I brought for dessert!" Amanda was excited-- did he make brownies!? She opened the foil, and a ring box is inside. She said yes!
August 2021
Ryan and Amanda adopted their second cat together-- a ragdoll kitten named Zoro! Ryan grew up with 4 cats, and Amanda grew up with 3, so they have always loved kitties. Zoro is named after a character in a show that Amanda and Ryan love and have watched over 1,000 episodes of together.
Cato is excited to be a big brother, and he loves Zoro

On August 27th, 2022, Amanda and Ryan will be taking their vows to become husband and wife.
